Reliance Jio Restores Services After Major Nationwide Outage, Kerala Hit the Worst

PUBLISHED:

Many Reliance Jio users across India faced a sudden and unexpected disruption in their network services on Monday afternoon. From mobile internet to JioFiber and even voice calls, users were left disconnected and confused. People from cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi, and Chandigarh all reported trouble using their Jio services.

The problem began in the early afternoon and quickly turned into a major outage. According to Downdetector, around 54 percent of complaints were related to mobile internet, 27 percent were about JioFiber, and 19 percent were linked to mobile network issues. That means users were not able to browse, stream, or even make simple phone calls.

People took to social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), to share their frustration and confusion. Many complained about how their work, online classes, and daily tasks got affected due to the sudden blackout. Kerala, in particular, seemed to be the worst hit, with many users unable to connect to the internet for a long time.

The problem became so widespread that Downdetector saw a huge jump in the number of complaints—far above what is usually seen at that time of day. Their system only confirms an outage when the number of reports is much higher than normal, and that clearly happened during this Jio blackout.

Thankfully, Reliance Jio responded quickly. By the afternoon, the company had started restoring services across most cities. A statement confirmed that everything is now back to normal, and users can continue using their services without any interruption.

While Jio hasn’t shared the exact reason for the outage, this sudden disruption left many wondering about the reliability of such a massive digital network. In today’s time, when so many people depend on mobile data for their jobs, studies, and personal communication, even a few hours of outage can create big issues.

People now expect that companies like Jio will take stronger measures to ensure this kind of disruption doesn’t happen again, especially without warning or quick updates. The good part is, services are back, and users can go about their routine smoothly once again.
