The father of law intern Namrata Borah has sought Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s intervention in the case of his daughter’s mysterious death
The death of law intern Namrata Borah has been pushed into greater mystery with her father launching a string of accusations against his daughter’s four friends, including AIUDF MLA Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi’s son Anayatul Wadud, who had accompanied her during the late-night Meghalaya joyride.
“I want the truth to come out. There are many unanswered questions. Why only she suffered fatal injuries while the others occupants of the vehicle did not even suffer bruises? Why did the car, if it met with an accident, left for Guwahati but did not take my daughter? Had her friends taken my daughter to a private nursing home, she might have survived?” Namrata’s father, who performed her Tiloni at their residence at Kamargaon, told News Live.
“A girl telephoned us on Wednesday morning and informed us that Namrata had died in a car accident at Nongpoh. We went to Meghalaya and realised that while my daughter died, the others didn’t even suffer a bruise?” he further said.
Namrata’s parents, along with other family members, alleged that their daughter might not have died in the accident but could have been murdered and it was later made to appear as if she had died in the accident.
THE ACCIDENT TIMELINE…
Namrata Borah of Komargaon in Golaghat district, who was practising at Gauhati High Court as an intern, had gone to Meghalaya around 1:30 am on Wednesday with four friends — Pragya Dehingia, Mriganka Baruah, Gayatri Borah and Anayatul Wadud, son of AIUDF MLA Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi.
The sudden plan to go on the joyride turned fatal when their car reportedly met with an accident in Ri-Bhoi district while they were returning to Guwahati.
Although Namrata died in the accident, her friends escaped without even suffering a bruise.
JOYRIDE VIDEO GOES VIRAL
Meanwhile, a video has emerged on social media which showed Namrata sitting in the back of the car while they were on their way to Nongpoh.
AIUDF MLA Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi’s son Anayatul Wadud was driving the car.
NAMRATA’S CO-TRAVELLERS REFRAIN FROM GIVING DETAILS
Significantly, Namrata’s friends Pragya Dehingia, Mriganka Baruah and Gayatri Borah who had accompanied her to Nongpoh refrained from divulging much before media persons about the accident which has added to the mystery.
