Sumi Borah and her husband Tarkik were arrested after they surrendered before Dibrugarh Police on September 12 last year
Actor-model-influencer Sumi Borah, who is in prison after her arrest in connection with the multi-crore trading scam, will finally be out under the open sky after she was granted bail by the Gauhati High Court in a case registered at Barbaruah Police Station in Dibrugarh district.
Incidentally, the case registered at Barbaruah Police Station (Case No. 85/2024) was the only one in which her bail application had earlier been arrested while she had been granted bail in the other cases.
However, with the Gauhati High Court granting bail to the actor-influencer in this case, the decks have been cleared for her release from prison on bail.
Sumi Borah was arrested after she and her husband Tapan Borah alias Tarkik surrendered before Dibrugarh Police on Septemvber 12 last year.
Sumi and her husband Tarkik were close associates of the scam kingpin Bishal Phukan who had also walked out of prison afgter being granted bail in all cases registered against him.
Sumi’s husband Tarkik is also out of prison on bail.
The Assam Government had after the arrest of Bishal Phukan, Sumi and Tarkik Borah and other accused handed over 41 trading cases to the CBI.
