Gaurav Gogoi excluded from diplomatic delegation to expose Pakistan globally

PUBLISHED:

Gaurav Gogoi was recommended by the Congress party as one of the four leaders to be included into the government-constituted delegations to expose Pakistan globally

Gaurav Gogoi, Congress MP from Jorhat and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, has not been included in the diplomatic delegations formed by the central government to expose Pakistan globally in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attacks and Pakistan sponsoring and harboring terrorists and terrorism from its soil.

Although the Congress party had recommended the name of Gaurav Gogoi for inclusion into the government’s diplomatic delegations, the Central Government decided against including the Jorhat Lok Sabha MP’s name in these delegations.

Incidentally, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had objected to the Congress party nominating Gaurav Gogoi for inclusion into the government’s diplomatic delegations “in the interest of national security”.

Without naming the Congress MP, Dr Himanta Biwa Sarma urged the Congress party to drop Gaurav Gogoi’s name from the list of MPs it had recommended for inclusion into the diplomatic delegation.

“One of the MPs named in the list ( from Assam ) has not denied his prolonged stay in Pakistan—reportedly for two weeks—and credible documents show that his wife was drawing salary from a Pakistan-based NGO while working in India.

In the interest of national security and beyond partisan politics, I urge leader of opposition Sri Rahul Gandhi not to include this individual in such a sensitive and strategic assignment,” Dr Sarma wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.
