On Saturday morning, Saiful Haque, accidentally came into contact with a livewire while working at the flyover site during his duty hours. This led to a severe electric shock, leaving him seriously hurt. He was immediately rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by the Chandmari Police, who reached the spot quickly.

This is not the first time such an incident has happened at the Chandmari Flyover construction site. In April 2025, a woman named Romila Das had a nar.row escape after being electrocuted near the same site. She was simply crossing the road when she came in contact with a live electric cable.
