PM Modi said terror and talks cannot go together and that any attack on its soil will be avenged and Operation Sindoor was not merely a name but a symbol of the collective sentiment of crores of Indians
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday warned Pakistan saying terror and talks cannot go together and that New Delhi pausing hostilities under the ceasefire agreement was only temporary and any move to violate the ceasefire will be dealt with firmly and that any attack on India in future will be avenged.
Addressing the nation for the first time after the Operation Sindoor was launched by Indian forces on terror launchpads in Pakistan on the intervening night of May 6 and May 7, Prime Minister Modi said Operation Sindoor was not merely a name but a symbol of the collective sentiment of crores of Indians.
Saluting the resolve of the Indian forces, Prime Minister Modi said the Pahalgam attacks had affected and pained him personally and that the entire nation wanted strong action to be taken against terrororism and the terror infrastructure operating out of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Modi further stated that precision strikes were launched on the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and India’s missiles and drones inflicted unimaginable damage killing over 100 terrorists.
“I salute mothers, sisters and daughters of our country and dedicate this Operation to them. I also salute our forces and scientists,” Prime Minister Modi said.
While terming Pakistan’s missile and drone attacks on India as another cowardly move that were effectively repulsed, Prime Minister Modi said Indian missiles struck Pakistani air bases and defence infrastructures with precision forcing Islamabad to kneel down and reachout to the world seeking a solution.
“All our forces are on constant alert now. Operation Sindoor is our policy against terror and we have set a new normal in the war on terror. We will reply to terror on our own terms. We will attack at the root of terror. We will not tolerate nuclear blackmail,” Prime Minister Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi further said that although this is not the age of war, it is also not the age of terror and said in clear terms that terror and talks cannot go together.
“India’s position is clear: terror and talks cannot go together; terror and trade cannot go hand in hand and, water and blood also cannot flow together” Prime Minister Modi added.
Prime Minister Modi said that if talks are held with Pakistan, discussions will be centered on terrorism and on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
