Assam Government launches emergency helpline numbers: Amid the tensions between India and Pakistan with the neighbouring country escalating matters and targeting Indian cities with drones which have been repelled, the Assam Government has issued helpline numbers for students from Assam studying in other parts of the region.

With the government closing operations in many airports in north and western India following the armed conflict, the Government of Assam launched the helpline numbers while also asking students who wish to return home to reach out to the Assam House in New Delhi.

“This is to inform all the students hailing from Assam, and studying in different parts of India, that they may contact the following telephone numbers of Assam Bhavan, New Delhi, in case of any help/assistance,” a notice issued by the Resident Commissioner, Assam House, New Delhi, stated.

Two emergency Helpline numbers — 011- 23010298/26877111 — were also launched while the contact numbers of two other officials have also been released.

An official also said that although the helpline numbers have specifically been issued for students from Assam, students from other Northeastern States can also seek assistance by contacting Assam Bhavan officials in New Delhi through these numbers.
