Operation Sindoor still underway, says Kiren Rijiju: Union Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday said that Operation Sindoor has not ended and that it is still underway while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told an all-party meeting convened in New Delhi that 100 terrorists were killed in the aerial strikes on Pakistani terror camps on Wednesday.

“Political parties are the voice of the people and the leaders speaking in one voice. I think it is also one of our successes… It is not good to tell about the continuation of things that are going on after the first strike of #OperationSindoor, and hence, officials were not called in the meeting…” Rijiju told media persons after the conclusion of the all-party meeting which was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress President Mallikurjun Kharge, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi besides other Opposition party leaders.

“All the leaders have shown maturity at a time when we are all working together. Everyone has hailed and congratulated the armed forces for Operation Sindoor, and said that we will support the government and armed forces. We have received a few suggestions as well… The Defence Minister said we don’t form the government just to rule…” Rijiju was further quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, meanwhile, said 100 terrorists were killed in the “precise” attacks on nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), saying that India wouldn’t back down if Pakistan retaliated.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge the Opposition was firmly behind the Government and the armed forces but raised the issue of the security of people living along the border besides also suggesting that families of those who lost their lives in the Poonch sector should be taken care of.

“We all raised the issue of the security of our people living on borders and also suggested that those who lost their lives in the Poonch sector—their families should be taken care of. The government assured us that they would take all the needed steps… We didn’t press further on any issue in the national interest… Rahul Gandhi demanded that a parliament session be called as it would give a good impression… They also said that all the propaganda that is going on is fake…” Kharge said.
