Reports said three explosions were heard near Walton Airport in Lahore triggering panic among people
Loud explosions were heard near Walton Airport in Lahore sending off sirens and triggering panic among people in the wake of the early Wednesday air raids in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) by Indian forces, multiple media reports said.
Unconfirmed reports have said that a total of three explosions rocked Lahore.
Local media reports said blasts were heard in the Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad areas of Lahore near Walton Airport.
The areas where the blasts were reported are said to be close to Lahore’s posh central business district and the Lahore army cantonment, the reports further stated, adding that no casualties were reported in the wake of the explosions.
Visuals showed people running out of their houses in panic after seeing smoke coming out from the explosion sites.
Indian armed forces had launched missile attacks on nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir early Wednesday. The attacks, aptly codenamed “Operation Sindoor“, avenged the Pahalgam killings with the precision strikes killing over 70 terrorists.
The well-coordinated attacks targeted terrorist bases, including Muridke and Bahawalpur which are strongholds of terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
