A domestic LPG cylinder will cost Rs 650 in Assam from October for general consumers while beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala scheme will get it at just Rs 250. This is what Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been maintaining in his panchayat campaign rallies, promising to relieve middle class and lower-income families from the burden of costlier cooking gas cylinders, which now costs around Rs 950 per cylinder for general consumers and Rs 550 for Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries.
