Pahalgam terror attack: Assam Government announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to next of kin of deceased: The Assam Government on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the 26 persons killed in the dastardly terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was addressing media persons in Guwahati today (April 24), condemned the terror attack orchestrated by Pakistani terrorists along with two Kashmiri conduits, and said that although nobody from the State died in the killings, the Assam Government will award Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin who lost their near and dear ones in the attack.

“We condemn the attack and as a mark of solidarity with the families who have lost their near and dear ones, our government has decided to provide a sum of Rs 5 lakh each to next of kin of those killed in the attacks,” Dr Sarma stated.

He also confirmed the arrest of AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam for his alleged comments made in connection with the terror attacks in Pulwama and Pahalgam in which he linked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the two attacks.

Chief Minister Dr Sarma also cautioned anti-social and anti-national elements against making such anti-India comments, and said that Assam Police will take strict action against anyone making such statements.
