AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam had linked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the Pulwama and Pahalgam terror attacks
AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam has been arrested for making anti-India remarks over the Pahalgam terror attack. Islam, who represents Dhing LAC in the Assam Assembly, was arrested from his residence in Dhing town today afternoon.
The Dhing legislator’s arrest came after he linked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the Pulwama and the Pahalgam terror attacks.
“I believe that the central government had a role in the Pulwama attack which took place in 2018 in which over 40 BSF brave hearts were killed. The BJP was able to polarise voters in the 2019 general elections over the Pulwama attack issue and won the elections. I had sought an investigation but nothing was done. I believe that like Pulwama, the Narendra Modi government has a role to play in the Pahalgam attacks. If the government fails to bring out the truth, we will be bound to believe that both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah were behind the two attacks,” Aminul Islam had said while campaigning for party candidates ahead of the upcoming Panchayat polls in his constituency Dhing yesterday (April 23).

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had said earlier today that the government will take strongest possible action against citizens who display a soft corner towards Pakistan and act as “Pakistani dalaals”, hinting at possible action against the AIUDF legislator.
“Not only against Pakistan, action should also be taken against some Indian citizens who support Pakistan. I have seen that many people are making pro-Pakistan statements. I believe that the Central Government will take strong measures against such-anti-national people no matter what positions they hold,” Chief Minister Dr Sarma stated at a poll campaign rally in Hojai.
