Young Manipuri Girl Dies by Suicide in Delhi: In a deeply heartbreaking incident, a young girl from Manipur’s Bishnupur district died by suicide in Delhi on Saturday morning. The 22-year-old girl had been living in Delhi since October 2024 and was working at a BPO company in Noida. She was staying in a rented house in the Kilokri area, under Sunlight Colony Police Station limits.
According to the police, the girl was found lying unresponsive near Maharani Park, close to Gupta Store, around 6:22 AM. The team rushed to the spot as soon as they received the call, but she had already passed away. Later, CCTV footage revealed that she had jumped off the rooftop of the building where she was staying.
This tragic incident has left her family, friends, and community in deep shock.
In the note found on her phone, the young girl reportedly wrote about how she had been feeling emotionally drained, lost, and hopeless. She struggled with self-doubt, loneliness, and felt she had no clear purpose in life. Her words reflected the deep pain she had been carrying silently.
The police said the note was touching and heartbreaking. It showed how mental health struggles can become invisible battles that many people fight alone. This has opened up a wider conversation about mental health among young working professionals, especially those living away from their families.
This is not just a news story. This is about a young life lost too soon. A girl who had dreams, who came to a big city for a better future, but silently suffered inside. It’s a sad reminder that emotional pain is real, and support systems are very important, especially for those who are away from their homes and loved ones.
Neighbours in the building said she mostly kept to herself and was a polite and kind person. “She would quietly go to work and come back. We never thought she was going through so much inside,” said one of the residents.
Her colleagues in Noida were also shaken after hearing the news. One of them shared, “She was always very focused at work. We never imagined something like this. It’s just heartbreaking.”
The police have informed her family members in Manipur, and they are on their way to Delhi. Once the family arrives, the postmortem will be conducted. Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigation and have secured the CCTV footage and the mobile phone for further analysis.
