GUWAHATI, April 7: In a sensational viral audio clip, a person — reportedly a close aide of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah — has been heard demanding money from a coal syndicate mafia in the name of the APCC president.
The caller, who did not identify himself in the audio call, was heard demanding the money from the person involved in the coal syndicate saying that he has been instructed by Bhupen Borah to get the money collected from him.
“Dada (Bhupen Kumar Borah) wants the money to be paid and he has strictly instructed me to get the entire amount paid before Bihu,” the person was heard telling the coal syndicate mafia whom he addresses as Madhab once in the audio clip.
While the person first expressed his inability to transfer the money citing poor business, he agreed to pay something being threatened by the caller to get him exposed before the media if he goes against Bhupen Borah’s wishes and fails to pay the money as allegedly directed by the APCC president.
Incidentally, the caller asked the coal syndicate mafia to pay the money to a person close to Assam Mahila Congress president Mira Borthakur while also acknowledging the fact that he had made similar payments to Mira Borthakur in the past.
