Pat Cummins Warns SRH Batters after Third Straight Loss in IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are going through a tough time in this IPL season. After facing their third loss in a row, captain Pat Cummins has now spoken out. He said that the team’s aggressive batting style may need a rethink if they want to get back to winning ways. Below is a full look at what went wrong for SRH and how Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made history in the process.

SRH had to chase 201 runs against KKR in their latest match, but they were bowled out for just 120 runs in 16.4 overs. Captain Cummins was not happy at all with the performance. Speaking after the match, he said the team needs to be “realistic.” Just a few days ago, SRH had smashed a record total of 280, but since then, their batting has failed badly in three matches straight. He said that while aggressive batting is SRH’s strength, it’s time to maybe explore other options.

Cummins also criticised the team’s fielding, calling it poor. He pointed out dropped catches and misfields that cost them extra runs. Even though the bowling wasn’t too bad, the Australian felt they gave away too many runs in the last few overs. Cummins also said that only three overs of spin were used because the pitch didn’t support spin much, and cutters worked better for pacers.

This was not just a bad night for SRH but a great day in the history of KKR. With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders became the first team in IPL history to win 20 or more matches against three different teams — SRH, RCB, and PBKS. KKR are clearly showing their strength this season under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy.

The match began with SRH choosing to bowl first. Their decision seemed to work at first when they sent both openers — Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine — back early, reducing KKR to 16/2. But then came a storm from the KKR batters. Rahane hit a quick 38 off 27 balls and was well supported by young Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 50 off 32 balls. Even though both were dismissed in quick time, Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29) and Rinku Singh (32* off 17) took the game away from SRH with a 91-run partnership for the fifth wicket. KKR ended up with a strong total of 200/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, SRH never got going. They lost their top-order in the powerplay and never recovered. Only Heinrich Klaasen (33 off 21) and Kamindu Mendis (27 off 20) gave some resistance. But the rest of the batters failed to deliver. KKR bowlers Vaibhav Arora (3/29) and Varun Chakravarthy (3/22) were the stars with the ball, breaking SRH’s backbone early on.

With this win, KKR now have two wins and two losses and are placed at fifth in the table. SRH, on the other hand, have only one win in four matches and are at the bottom of the table.

It’s a moment of truth for SRH. Captain Pat Cummins has clearly sent a message to the batters — it’s time to take responsibility and start performing. Will SRH bounce back in their next match or continue to struggle? Only time will tell, but one thing is sure — they need to fix their game quickly.
