RPF of NF Railway carries out checking on a regular basis to keep a close eye on illegal migrants, Rohingyas and other suspected people at stations and trains
GUWAHATI, March 18: The Railway Protection Force or RPF of NF Railway apprehended 11 illegal migrants in Tripura in February, a release issued by NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated.
Besides apprehending the 11 illegal migrants which included both Bangladeshi and Rohingyas, two Indian agents were also held during checks at Dharmanagar and Agartala railway stations.
An RPF team of Agartala conducted a routine drive at Agartala Railway Station on February 15 during which they detected 2 female Bangladeshi nationals at the station.
On interrogation, the duo could not provide any valid documents of their identity.
They later confessed to having entered India illegally from Bangladesh.
The illegal migrants were later handed over to Officer In-charge/Government Railway Police/Agartala for further legal action.
The RPF of NF Railway has taken up checking on a regular basis to keep a close eye on illegal migrants, Rohingyas and other suspected people at stations and trains. RPF staff deployed at stations and trains remain ever vigilant at different levels to detect any such kind of suspicious activities, the NF Railway release concluded.
