GUWAHATI, Mar 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was conferred the ‘Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados’ Award, has expressed his gratitude to the Government and the people of Barbados for conferring the award on him.
Prime Minister Modi dedicated this honour to the 1.4 billion Indians and to the close relations between India and Barbados.

Dedicate the ‘Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados’ Award to the 1.4 billion Indians and to the close relations between India and Barbados,” he wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.
The award was received on behalf of Prime Minister Modi by Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, who is on a visit to the Caribbean nation.

PM Shri @narendramodi ji the ‘Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados’ Award from the President of Barbados, H.E @DameSandraMason, at the Government House in Bridgetown, in the presence of PM H.E @miaamormottley , FM H.E @KerrieD246 and other dignitaries. The award was bestowed upon PM in acknowledgment of his strategic leadership & significant assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic,” Pabitra Margherita wrote on ‘X’ after receiving the award on behalf of Prime Minister Modi.
