GUWAHATI, Feb 25: Host Pakistan’s early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has not only dampened the spirits of the players and fans, it may also leave an imprint on the Men in Green, according to a report by news agency PTI.
“Now, the challenge is to ensure the crowds keep on coming for the remaining matches in Pakistan, because we are hosting such a big event after 29 years,” a PCB official, who had earlier been brimming with confidence following the impressive turnout at Lahore for the Australia-England match, was quoted as saying by PTI after Pakistan’s exit.
“The biggest worry is despite the craze for cricket here, it may not be easy to sell Pakistan cricket as a brand in future,” the news agency quoted a source close to PCB’s commercial wing as saying.
