Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan set India target of 242 runs for victory in high-voltage must-win encounter

GUWAHATI, Feb 23: Pakistan has set Team India a target of 242 runs for victory in their must-win high-voltage match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being played in Dubai.

Pakistan, who batted first after captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss, were bowled out for 241 runs in 49.4 overs.

Saud Shakeel top-scored for Pakistan making 62 (76) while captain Mohammad Rizwan made 46 from 77 balls.

Khushdil Shah made a 39-ball 38 and was the last Pakistani wicket to fall in the 49th over while trying to up the ante in the last over.

Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowlers picking up three wickets, Hardik Pandya took 2 while Harshit Rana, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja scalped one wicket each.

Pakistan had lost their inaugural match of the tournament with New Zealand defeating the hosts by 60 runs in Karachi, Team India began the tournament on a high as they triumphed over Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their inaugural match of the tournament on Friday.
