GUWAHATI, Feb 21: Former Team Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly escaped unhurt after his car met with an accident while the former India opener was enroute to Burdwan University for an event.
The incident took place at Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway. Reports said the accident took place when the driver of one of the cars had to apply brakes as a lorry tried to overtake.
The cars of the convoy following the former cricketer collided as a result while the one immediately behind also could not control and hit the car carrying Ganguly.
Two of the vehicles suffered minor damages while all, including Ganguly — fondly addressed as ‘Dada’ by cricket fans — escaped unhurt.
He and other members of the convoy resumed their onward journey after a brief 10-minute halt.
