GUWAHATI, Feb 13: At least 20 people were injured after a driver plowed his car into a group of pedestrians in Munich on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 10:30 am local time. The driver who rammed his vehicle into the pedestrians has been arrested by German Police although there is no confirmation as of now whether the incident was deliberate.
Reports in the social media said the arrested accused is an asylum seeker from Afghanistan although it is yet to be verified by police till the filing of this report.
Unconfirmed reports, on the other hand, stated that a woman died in the incident while two others, including a two-year toddler, are battling for life with police looking into the possibility of it being terrorism-related.
The injured were admitted to local hospitals.
Reports also said that a demonstration by a service workers’ union was also taking place nearby when the incident took place.
