GUWAHATI, Feb 12: US President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered federal agencies to prepare for “widespread firings of government workers”, news agency Reuters reported citing a White House official.
The executive order, which is expected to be signed on Tuesday, will also set forth rules requiring government agencies to hire no more than one employee for every four workers who leave the federal workforce, the report further stated quoting the official as saying.
The order, the report also stated, will compel agencies to work with Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency team to identify large-scale reductions in force and determine which agency components may be eliminated outright.
