GUWAHATI, Feb 12: Five under-fire YouTubers, including BeerBiceps famed Ranveer Allahbadia, caught in a massive controversy over his controversial and obscene remarks made at fellow YouTuber Samay Raina’s online show ‘India’s Got Latent’, could be up for more trouble with a team of officers from Guwahati Police landing in Mumbai today (Feb 12) after Guwahati Crime Branch registered an FIR against the five YouTubers and social Influencers — Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina.
The team will carry out investigations against the five social media influencers for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in the show which has now been taken off from YouTube.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, who on Monday took to ‘X’, formerly Twitter, said Guwahati Crime Branch has registered a case against them and that investigations have started.
“Strictest measures possible would be taken against them”, news agency ANI quoted Guwahati Joint Commissioner of Police Ankur Jain as saying.
Mumbai Police, meanwhile, have also been carrying out its probe and had visited the house of Ranveer Allahbadia in Versova yesterday while another team visited the studio in Mumbai’s Khar on Monday where the show was shot.
