GUWAHATI, Feb 4: Amid a debate among soccer lovers as to who between Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentine world cup winning captain Lionel Messi is the best, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger has himself sought to end the debate claiming that he is “the best in football history”.
The talismanic footballer who now plays from Saudi club Al-Nassr was speaking to Spanish media outlet LaSexta TV and claimed that although people could like Messi, Maradona or Pele, but he is the most complete and the best in the history of the game.
“I think I’m the most complete football player that has ever existed. People could like Messi, Maradona or Pele, and I respect it, but I’m the most complete. I’m the best player in football history,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying.
On his relationship with Messi, Ronaldo said: “I’ve never had a bad relationship with Messi. We’ve shared 15 years of awards, and we’ve always gotten along well.”
