GUWAHATI, Jan 23: An octogenarian woman was allegedly subjected to inhuman treatment by his youngest son and daughter-in-law in Assam’s Bijni town sending shock anger among the people.
The elderly woman, identified as Adori Basak, a resident of Amguri Colony of Bijni town, was allegedly subjected to inhuman treatment by his youngest son Kalachand Basan and daughter-in-law Shefali Basak.
People of the locality saw the octogenarian woman standing outside her home in the cold last night and, when inquired, she told them about her ordeal; that she was driven out of her home by her son and daughter-in-law who, she alleged, also abused and ill-treated her.
After neighbours called the police, a team of cops arrived and took her to the local police station.
Alerted by the developments, the woman’s son rejected all allegations saying that his mother was unwell and that they did not treat her badly.
