GUWAHATI, Jan 17: A Pakistan court today (Jan 17) convicted former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a graft case while sentencing the former cricketer-turned-politician to 14 years in prison.
His wife Bushra, who had been released on bail and re-arrested from the court premises after the judgement today, will spend seven years in prison, as per the judgement passed by the anti-graft court.
“I will neither make any deal nor seek any relief,” news agency AFP quoted Imran Khan as telling reporters inside the court room after his convicting and sentencing.
72-year-old Imran Khan has been indicted on charges that he and his wife were gifted land by a real estate developer during the time he was Prime Minister of Pakistan from 2018 to 2022 in exchange for illegal favours.
