Stabbing Update: Saif Ali Khan out of danger after surgery, suspect spotted on CCTV camera

GUWAHATI, Jan 16: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is now out of danger after undergoing a surgery at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted after being stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra house last night.

Mumbai Police, meanwhile, said cops have identified the person who broke into the actor’s house with an intention of committing robbery and that six police teams have been formed to nab the accused.

The suspected attacker was seen walking out of the house using the staircase amid reports that he was known to one of the staffers.

The Bollywood actor was stabbed six times by the intruder after a failed robbery bid at his home in Bandra, Mumbai.

Mumbai Police said the incident took place around 2:30 am Thursday and suspected that the attacker might have been present inside the actor’s house.

Other members of his family, including wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, and sons Taimur and Jeh, are safe, a statement issued by his team stated.

“Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident.

We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time,” the statement stated.

Reports said that Saif Ali Khan’s domestic help Elyimma Philips alias Lima, who first spotted the accused and then tried to confront and stop him, also sustained injuries in her hand.
