Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu lauds rescue of six stranded people from Siang river

GUWAHATI, Jan 10: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has congratulated SDRF and Arunachal Pradesh Police for successfully rescuing six people who were stranded near Bodak village in the Siang river in East Siang district.

He also cautioned people not to venture into “risky areas during inclement weather”.

Reports said the six people had gone to collect ‘stink bugs’ in a small country boat on Tuesday but could not return following inclement weather conditions.

A rescue team of Arunachal Police from the nearby Mebo Police Station along with a team of SDRF went to the place to rescue them.

Although heavy rainfall and darkness prevented the rescue team to ferry the stranded people on Tuesday, they were successfully rescued on Wednesday.
