GUWAHATI, Dec 23: Three Khalistani terrorists who were accused of lobbing a grenade at policemen in Punjab’s Gurdaspur were killed in an encounter with cops in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, reports said.
The encounter took place last night when a gunfight battle broke out between the trio and a joint team of UP and Punjab Police, the reports added.
The criminals reportedly opened fire when they were told by the police team to lay down their arms.
Policemen retaliated when they were fired upon by the three terrorists, identified as Gurwinder Singh, Virendra Singh and Jasanpreet Singh.
They died of their injuries in hospital, the NDTV reported.
Two AK series rifles and two Glock pistols, reports said, have been recovered.
