GUWAHATI, Dec 10: People of Sarupathar hailed the inauguration of the 100-bedded Sarupathar Co-District Civil Hospital and an oxygen plant by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at Sarupathar yesterday.
Residents said the healthcare institution will greatly benefit people and thanked Chief Minister Dr Sarma for gifting the hospital to the people.
Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had inaugurated the 100-bedded hospital besides dedicating the oxygen plant built with the CSR fund of Numaligarh Refinery at a function at Sarupathar yesterday.
Terming the day as important for the people of Sarupathar, Chief Minister Dr Sarma said that the Co-District hospital built with a financial outlay of Rs 15 crore has facilities like nine out-patient departments, operation theatre, emergency ward, resuscitation room, special newborn care unit, medicine and paediatric ward, two labour rooms etc.
Moreover, the oxygen plant built with the help of CSR fund of Numaligarh Refinery Limited will help the hospital in giving critical care during emergency. He also said that many more advanced medical care will be added to the
hospital.
The Chief Minister also announced that 20 thousand women received the benefits of Orunodoi scheme while 10,000 more beneficiaries will be added to the list from Sarupathar Assembly constituency.
As a result, several women from the co-district will become empowered, he stated.
Kaziranga Lok Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan and a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
