NFR RPF apprehend 23 B’deshi infiltrators in Nov, rescue 56 minors, 4 women from human traffickers

GUWAHATI, Dec 9: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway apprehended 23 Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala, Jirania and Dharmanagar railway stations in different drives conducted in November. RPF also rescued 56 minors and 4 women from various stations under NF Railway during this period.

In a recent incident on November 27, a team of RPF personnel conducted checks at Katihar railway station and rescued a minor boy who had fled from his family from Katihar railway station. Later, after ascertaining the address of the minor boy, he was handed over to Child Line, Katihar for safe custody.

In another incident, a joint team of RPF and BSF conducted a routine check at Dharmanagar railway station. Four suspected Bangladeshi nationals were spotted. On interrogation they could not produce any valid documents and later confessed that they entered India illegally.

All four illegal migrants were later apprehended and handed over to the 97th Battalion of the BSF stationed at Shipinjuri for further legal action, a press release issued by NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated.
