GUWAHATI, Dec 6: Mogadampalli Bhaskar, husband of the 32-year-old woman Revathi who lost her life during the stampede-like situation at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during Pushpa 2 premiere show, is now inconsolable as he reminisces happy memories of the past, particularly when his wife donated him her liver in 2023 to save his life, media reports said.
“She donated liver, gave me life, and now she’s gone,” the 40-year-old grieving husband was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Bhaskar said he took his wife and their two kids to Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2.
When the stampede broke out, Bhaskar was with their youngest child Sanvi while his wife Revathi was with their nine-year-old boy Sritej.
Revathi lost her life while trying to save her son as the commotion started after Allu Arjun arrived around 10:30 pm following which police resorted to a mild baton-charge leading to the stampede-like situation.
“Our son, Tej, is a huge fan of Allu Arjun. We came to the theatre because of him. Everyone calls him Pushpa… The doctors say my son’s condition is critical. We demand action against Sandhya Theatre management for the tragedy,” said Revathi’s husband Bhaskar was quoted as saying.
Reports say Bhaskar is still recovering from the liver transplant surgery and is without a job.
Police, meanwhile, have filed a case against actor Allu Arjun, his security team and the management team of Sandhya Theatre.
