GUWAHATI, Nov 26: Guwahati will host the 1st North East Para Sports Meet 2024 from Nov 27 to 29 with more than 500 participants from six northeastern states competing in five disciplines.
A special media interaction regarding the upcoming para sports meet was addressed at Udayachal by Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. CMD Riniki Bhuyan Sharma who is also the Chief Patron of Paralympic Association of Assam, and Syed Zarir Hussain, Media Vice-President, Pride East group.
The tournament is being hosted by Udayachal, a unit of the Jadav Chandra Bhuyan Memorial Trust working for inclusive & holistic development of children with special needs, in association with the Paralympics Association of Assam and under the aegis of Paraolympic Committee of India.
Apart from Udayachal, Sarusajai Stadium and Vandya International School, Amingaon, will host other disciplines of the tournament.
The para sports meet will be inaugurated by Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika at Udayachal tomorrow (Nov 27).
The State winning the highest number of medals will be given awarded the Jadav Chandra Bhuyan Special trophy.
It may be mentioned here that the mascot of the event named Puhor, the jersey and the Jadav Chandra Bhuyan Special trophy were also launched during the event.
