GUWAHATI, Nov 23: Jasprit Bumrah picked up five wickets as India skittled Australia out for a paltry 104 in their first innings on Day 2 of the first test at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Australia resumed at the overnight score of 67 for 7 but stand-in skipper Bumrah removed Alex Carey for 21 while Harshit Rana took the wickets of Nathan Lyon (6) and Mitchell Starc (26) to skittle the hosts for just 104 runs as India took a first innings lead of 46 runs.
Incidentally, Australia’s 104 today was the lowest total by any Australian side against India at home.
Meanwhile, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul started the second innings cautiously and ensured they did not repeat the mistakes made in the first innings.
Till the filing of this report, India were 68/0 with Jaiswal batting on 33 while KL Rahul is unbeaten on 27.
