Tragic! Two brothers, who had stopped to change pick-up van’s deflated tyre, ran over by speeding truck at Kaliabor

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: Two brothers were killed after they were crushed by a speeding brick-laden truck at Kaliabor in Assam’s Nagaon district.

The accident took place last night.

The siblings — identified as Jainal Abedin and Abdul Suban of Dhing’s Rajabari locality — were returning home after finishing vegetable marketing when one of the tyres of their pick-up van got punctured.

The brothers stopped to change the deflated tyre when the speeding truck bearing registration number AS-25FC-0867 laden with bricks rammed into their vehicle, crushing them in the process.

After police were informed about the accident, he brothers were first taken to a hospital in Jakhalabandha and later rushed to Tezpur Medical College Hospital where they breathed their last.

While Jainal leaves behind his wife and three children Abdul Suban has left behind his wife and a minor child along with their aged mother.
