GUWAHATI, Nov 17: Twenty-four hours after the officer-in-charge of Guwahati’s Pan Bazar Police Station came under criticism for assaulting a delivery boy for a minor wrongdoing, another cop — a policewoman of Jorhat — is now under the scanner for allegedly physically assaulting a woman holding her 2-month-old minor in her lap.
The baby, the victim alleged, suffered injuries after a slap hit the toddler’s head.
The baby’s mother has filed a complaint against SI Bornali Gohain, IC of Bhogdoi police out-post, alleging physical assault.
A police team led by the under-scanner woman SI had gone to the victim’s house situated in Borigaon locality of the town yesterday (Nov 16) afternoon in connection with a case.
The complainant said SI Bornali Gohain started threatening her and then kicked and slapped her during which one of the slaps hit her 2-month-old baby girl.
She further alleged that the policewoman also misbehaved with her mother.
The baby, the victim alleged in her complainant, has been told to undergo a CT Scan at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) following the incident.
