GUWAHATI, Nov 7: US Vice-President and Democratic party candidate Kamala Harris conceded the elections to former President Donald Trump but said that the “the fight that fuelled this campaign” will go on.
“While I concede the election, I do not concede the fight that fuelled this campaign. Fight for freedom, opportunity, dignity for all people,” Harris said addressing her supporters at her alma mater Howard University in Washington.
“We must accept the results of this election. I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory, she added.
Despite polls and ground reports suggesting that the fight will be too close to call, former President Trump won getting 295 electoral votes while Harris could manage only 226.
