GUWAHATI, Oct 30: Rise in prices saw gold selling less than silver and diamond on Dhanteras this year, reports said on Wednesday.
“While silver sales rose 33% today, gold volume fell by 15%,” a report in the Business Standard quoted Surendra Mehta, National Secretary of the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), as saying.
The shift came as gold prices rose 30% since last Diwali while silver was perceived as a more practical investment, the report further stated.
