GUWAHATI, Oct 30: Paltan Bazaar Police have registered another case against DB Stocks trading scam accused Dipankar Barman after he was brought back to Guwahati from Goa yesterday where he was arrested on Sunday evening.
Investigating officer of the high-profile case, Additional Commissioner of Police Amit Mahato, lodged the fresh case at Paltan Bazaar Police Station (Case No 374/24).
He was later arrested under the new case.
It may be mentioned here that Dipankar Barman had been on the run for more than two months after he fled Guwahati, reportedly on Aug 18, when a section of investors — who had invested huge sums of money — accused him of not paying them assured monthly returns.
After being on the run, a team of Guwahti City Police finally traced him to Goa from where he was arrested on Sunday evening.
He was brought to Guwahati yesterday on a transit remand.
