GUWAHATI, Oct 23: Imphal East District Police Tuesday arrested six cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) from Porompat in Imphal East.
The arrested members, Manipur Police said, are Oinam Abung Meitei (31), Leimapokpam Hari Meitei (53), Yaikhom Lukhoi Singh alias Inao (32), Oinam Bijen Meitei (25), Athokpham (N) Irengbam (O) Inaobi Devi alias Nanao (38) and Moirangthem Ichan Devi (20).
A four wheeler, two two-wheelers, six mobile phones, a sling bag, two wallets, two ID cards and a Rs 3,88,950 cash were also recovered from the possession of the arrested KCP members.
Police said they were involved in illegal arms transactions and extortion.
