GUWAHATI, Oct 21: Diptimoyee Choudhury, wife of former 8-term Bongaigaon legislator and present Barpeta Lok Sabha MP Phani Bhushan Choudhury, has been given the AGP ticket to contest from Bongaigaon in the Nov 13 by-elections.
Although Diptimoyee was tipped to get the AGP ticket, the names of a few other leaders were also doing the rounds, the AGP top leadership favoured the candidacy of the former legislator’s wife.
The Congress party on the other hand, has given the ticket to retired IPS officer Brajenjit Singha from Bongaigaon.
