GUWAHATI, Oct 11: A crown of Goddess Kali which was gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been stolen from a temple in Bangladesh. The crown of the diety was stolen from Jeshoreshwari temple in Satkhira’s Shyamnagar.
This crown was gifted by Prime Minister Modi during his visit to the temple in March, 2021.
The theft apparently took place on Thursday afternoon.
The stolen crown made of silver was gold-plated.
Local police officers, the Bangladeshi media reported, have launched a probe into the theft and said efforts were on to arrest those involved in the theft and recover the stolen crown.
