State funeral for iconic industrialist & philanthropist Ratan Tata

GUWAHATI, Oct 10: Iconic industrialist & philanthropist Ratan Tata, who passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday, will be accorded a state funeral by the Maharashtra government. The Maharashtra Government also declared a day of mourning in the state on Thursday to pay tribute to the industrialist with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde calling him a “unique blend of morality and entrepreneurship.”
The mortal remains of the former Chairman of Tata Sons will be kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point, South Mumbai, from 10.30 am to 4 pm today to enable people to pay their respects.
His body will then be taken to the Worli crematorium for the last rites.
Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to attend the last rites of Ratan Tata on behalf of the Central Government.
Meanwhile, condolences continue to pour in from across the world with people from all walks of life condoling the demise of the legendary industrialist and philanthropist.
