A day after former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhubaneswar Kalita joined the BJP after having resigned as Rajya Sabha MP and from the Congress party, the party suffered another massive blow with former MLA and minister Gautam Roy and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Santiuse Kujur quitting the party today (Aug 10).

Gautam Roy, Barak Valley strongman who was also a cabinet minister in the Tarun Gogoi ministry during the last term, said after meeting State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass in Guwahati today that he will soon join the saffron party.

On the other hand, Santiuse Kujur, whose term as Rajya Sabha MP ended in June this year, tendered his resignation from the Congress.
