Another picnic mishap in Assam, 2 killed

In another tragic incident, a group of picnic-goers in Assam’s Goreswar faced a fatal accident resulting in the immediate loss of two lives on Sunday.

The incident occurred near the renowned Bogamati picnic spot in the Tamulpur district.

As per inputs, the driver of a car in which the picnic group was traveling, lost control and fell into a canal, which is a part of the Sukla Irrigation Project in Goreswar.

Two passengers were killed on the spot.

The victims have been identified as Pawan Rabha and Sanjay Rabha, both residents of Kulsi Gaon under the jurisdiction of the Palasbari Police Station in Mirza.

After receiving information about the accident, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies.

Further investigation is underway.

In another incident, a speeding vehicle on National Highway 37 near Dergaon in Assam overturned after colliding with the road divider.

The two occupants inside the car sustained minor injuries.

The accident occurred at Bonbagisa in Golaghat district.

Earlier on January 3, at least 12 people died, all picnic goers, and over 20 others received grave injuries after a bus carrying 45 people collided with a truck in Assam’s Dergaon.

The accident took place when the bus, carrying 45 passengers, was on the way to Tinsukia’s Tilinga Mandir. It collided with a truck in Dergaon.
