Rima Das’ movie ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ has won the Rajat Kamal (Silver Peacock) winning the best Assamese Film in the 66th National Film Awards that were announced today.

Incidentally, it’s Rima Das’ second film after ‘Village Rockstars’ to win a national film award.
‘Bulbul Can Sing’, a powerful story on three teenagers — two girls including the main protagonist ‘Bulbul and a boy — defining their own identities against some age-old rules set down by the village, also won the ‘Best Indie Film’ at the ongoing Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
