The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday (October 2) said that widespread rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning likely in Assam and other Northeast States till October 5.
According to the IMD:
– Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm & lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Assam & Meghalaya during October 2-5.
– Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm & lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during October 2-4.
-Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm & lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on October 4 and 5.
In view of these forecasts, a yellow alert has been issued over Assam and other Northeast states till October 5, so as to urge the locals to ‘be updated’ about the inclement weather.
