GUWAHATI, Sep 27: The Sri Lankan cricket team arrived in Guwahati this morning ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup that kicks off on October 5.
The Lankan team arrived at the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to a rousing reception and they were taken to the Hotel Vivanta where they will be staying for the warm-up games.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to arrive in the city at 5pm today.
The Lankans will play their first warm-up game against Bangladesh in Guwahati on Friday (Sep 29).
The Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati will host four warm-up games, including India’s warm-up game against defending champions England on Saturday. Cricket fans in Guwahati can also watch the England-Bangladesh tie on Oct 2 and the Afghanistan-Sri Lanka game on Oct 3.
