Guwahati, July 19: Orunodoi beneficiaries in Assam will get Rs 1,250 in the bank accounts from October, a hike of Rs 250 from the Rs 1,000 beneficiaries are presently been entitled to every month. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today announced about the hike in monthly allowance for beneficiaries of the scheme at Lalpur in Udalguri district.
“Beneficiaries of Orunodoi scheme will get Rs 1,250 per month from October this year instead of the Rs 1,000 they are presently getting,” Chief Minister Sarma after inaugurating the 25-MW solar plant project set up under Assam Solar Energy Policy, 2017 in ‘Build, Own, Operate’ model.
Around 20 lakh women beneficiaries in Assam are receiving Rs 1,000 on every month through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The hike in the monthly amount has been hailed by beneficiaries across the State.
