Guwahati: Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked the state police to complete the recruitment process of some 16,000 posts within May 10.
The direction came during the ongoing SP conference being held at Duliajan in Dibrugarh district on Tuesday.
The CM said, “A total of 5000 new posts have been created for state police’s new commando battalions. Already, 11,000 posts in the state police have been lying vacant. I have asked the department to finish the recruitment process within May 10.”
The Assam government has set a target to recruit 1 lakh government jobs by May 10 on the mark of first year completion of the current government in the state.
Out of 1 lakh jobs in different departments, the Assam government had given the task to the Assam police to recruit 16,000 posts. Similarly, the education department has been directed to recruit some 25000 posts and 5000 in health department within the time frame.
Beside, the chief minister asked the state police to expedite the verification process for passport and other official works. An online reporting system for forensic tests and FIR registration were also discussed
